So is fluorocarbon leader line really stronger (and more abrasion resistant) than normal main fluorocarbon main line?

That is a question that keeps on coming up time and time again in forums, Facebook fishing groups, and blog comment regarding fishing line.

The big question:

Is the 5x more expensive fluorocarbon leader line really more abrasion resistant or is a marketing ploy to get us to spend more?

Even though most anglers swear that fluorocarbon leader line is stronger, there has been no public evidence that I’ve seen (minus what the fishing line manufacturers claim on their boxes).

So I decided to put it to the test, and the results kind of shocked us.

Check out what happens when we filmed 6 different fishing line strengths tests with the same brand.

I don’t know about you, but I’m not going to spend 5x more for basically the same line any longer…

Thoughts?

Any questions on this fluorocarbon fishing line test?

Any other ways we can improve it?

Any other fishing line brands you want us to try next?
