We are fishing in giant ocean swells in south Florida going after big amberjacks. I’m fishing with Blacktiph and Outlawdipper for one of the roughest days out on the ocean I’ve ever experienced. The waves were so big that it was starting to make us sea sick and we ended up going inshore to fish for barracuda and other fish in calmer water. Sea sickness can make a fishing day miserable, but adding in the lack of bites out on the water made it a very tough fishing day. We managed to get one really big bite from an amberjack that broke our braided line using the beastmaster fishing reel. Attempting to fish in 8-10 foot waved in the open ocean in a medium sized fishing boat can be dangerous. We took a few waves to the side of the boat that got us all wet and soaked our fishing gear too. I guess the Bilge Boyz will have to wait for another year to go after these giant amberjacks again when the ocean swells are not as big.
