There was a huge spawn on Toledo Bend in March and John Murray, and other professional anglers had resolved that a mid-April tournament would be a post spawn tournament. He discovered there were still plenty of fish spawning, even prespawn bass. Murray explains, why, when other say “the spawn is over”, you should check these other areas for prespawn and spawning fish. When you go fishing in the spring, looking for bass on beds, don’t be discouraged when other anglers report that the bass are off the beds, because now you’ll know that they aren’t done, other anglers just aren’t looking in the right place.
