In this video, I’m going to show you how to rig shrimp weedless.

Yes, you heard that right… a weedless live shrimp.

Here’s why having a weedless shrimp is so critical to catching more saltwater fish…

As you probably know, many of the best places to catch loads of fish using shrimp are near structures like jetties, docks, and bridges.

More specifically, all of those forms of structure continue to get better the closer you can get your bait. However, fishing shrimp on the bottom or near these areas will often get you snagged or broken off. I mean, how many times have you lost a rig in structure like this? Tons, right?

So after losing tons of rigs over the years, I’ve recently been Texas Rigging live shrimp and it’s helped me catch more fish while getting snagged less.

Here’s all I do to get a weedless shrimp:

1) Get a medium sized live shrimp
2) Rip the tail off the shrimp
3) Use a small J-hook to “Texas Rig” the shrimp
4) Make sure the hook point never comes out of the shrimp shell
5) Use a small bullet weight, cast, and get ready for the bite!

Watch this video to see exactly how I rig it, what equipment I use, and some bonus tips that help me catch more fish around structure.
