It is very sleek and is a favorite among many fishing guides for that very reason.

Steps for tying the Blood Knot

Step 1: Overlap 5 Inches of Leader and Main Line
Step 2: Make 5-7 Wraps Around the Leader Line With the Tag End of Your Main Line
Step 3: Put the Tag End of the Main Line Through the “V” at the Overlap Point
Step 4: Repeat Steps 2 and 3 Using the Tag End of Your Leader Line
Step 5: Lubricate the Knot and Pull Both Lines and Tag Ends Finger-Tight
Step 6: Cut the Tag Ends

The Blood Knot is strong and holds up against the toughest of fish.

There are definitely simpler and easier line-to-line knots you can tie, but the Blood Knot is a great one to add to your arsenal.
