When I first tried out a baitcasting reel after using spinning gear, I committed a crucial mistake that caused me way more bird’s nests than I should’ve had, as well as way more line breaks than I should’ve had.

Braided line is great for casting distance and sensitivity, especially the lighter braid if you’re using spinning gear.

There’s not as much stretch or memory as with mono, and it’s much thinner.

This is all great for spinning gear, but not exactly great for baitcasting gear.
