Casting isn’t just casting!

And after watching so many anglers (of all experience levels) make this casting mistake, I had to do a quick video about it.

There are many seemingly small aspects of casting that can make a very large difference.

And one such seemingly insignificant part of casting a lure that can cause a lot of heartache for anglers is casting knots through guides.

Worst of all, this is a very common mistake among saltwater anglers who use light main line to maximize casting distance with a heavier leader for withstanding the strong and sharp jaws of many saltwater species.

But the great news is that this problem is easily dodged… it’s all about awareness of the issue.

All that is needed is just to use shorter leaders or get used to having more line out of the rod tip during casting.

And certainly don’t whip your line to leader knot through multiple rod guides! Talk about increasing the chances of weakening your fishing knot!

On the other hand, with these easy fixes applied to your casting, this problem can be a thing of the past.
