Do you know how to find live bait using a fish finder?

In particular, do you know exactly how to spot whitebait compared to threadfins from a fish finder screen?

Being able to read a fish finder (aka depth finder) can be the difference between you having a livewell full of bait and a frustrating morning of searching for bait.

In this video, Capt. Mike Goodwine of Blackneck Adventures reveals how he used his fish finder to find the best live bait around structure.

Notice how the whitebait sits closer towards the bottom and stays packed in really tightly (showing up as a darker red on the fish finder), where the threadfins are closer to the surface of the water and aren’t packed in as much (showing up as a purple-blue on the fish finder).

Pretty cool stuff.
