I took my sister fishing in D.C. with hopes of getting her on her first ever snakehead! The last time I fished here, I had good success fishing shiners for smallmouth bass and a surprise blue catfish. Unfortunately, the shiners were extremely fragile and often died after 2 or 3 casts… Seeing how the snakehead is a vicious predator that’s heavily pressured in this particular area, I felt like a higher quality bait was needed to trigger these fish to bite! So, I spent 2.5 hours micro-fishing in a local creek the day before, pulling up a number of 3-4 inch sunfish and creek chubs that I thought would serve perfectly as bait…
