The Bass Anglers Sportsman Society was created a few years before the first ever Classic. Once Ray Scott created the one-of-a-kind Championship event in 1971 it was history from that point on. The Classic has created some of the finest memories in professional fishing and it cemented a lot of anglers into the record books along the way.
