Ray Scott, out of necessity, needed one big tournament to end each season in hopes of getting public notoriety and attention from the media about the his newly formed fishing league called B.A.S.S.
After inspiration from The Masters golf tournament, Scott added “masters” to bass and thus, the Bass Masters Classic was formed. Bob Cobb, Tommy Sanders and James Hall tell the story.
