Bassmaster – History is made and Records are broken at the St. Lawrence River + Lake Ontario

The 2022 Guaranteed Rate Bassmaster Elite Series event at the St. Lawrence River was one for the record books.

There were a few records broken, history was created and overall it was a monumental week for the sport of bass fishing and smallmouth bass.

– Jay Przekurat and Cory Johnston break 100 pounds with smallmouth
– Przekurat becomes youngest Elite Series winner (23 years, 26 days old)
– Every angler caught a limit every single day of competition (237/237) for only the 2nd time in Elite Series history (2010 Pickwick Lake)
– 160 bags over 20 pounds, 2nd only to Falcon Lake
– Johnston’s 28-8 limit on Day 4 became the biggest smallmouth 5-bass limit in Elite Series history and 2nd highest in B.A.S.S. history (1998 Pickwick Lake, Chuck Economou, 29-1)
– Jacob Foutz previously set the Elite record just 3 days prior with 27-15 on Day 1.
