The first of many bank fishing tips is that you should check the water temperature, even as a bank fisherman. This might be the most important piece of information as Spring approaches, but it’s still important any time. Using an aquarium thermometer with a probe, I am out checking water temperatures on different parts of the lake. The backs of creeks are between 55 – 58 degrees. The temperature of the main channel is a bit lower at 51 degrees. As the creeks continue to warm up, the fish will start moving in. It is important for bank fishermen to check the water temperature. As spring approaches, this is my number one bank fishing tip.
