When picking a dropshot worm, look for a short limber worm that will give action and is the right size for finicky bass. I perfer a roboworm, Cut-tail worm, or even a plasma tail, However; a finnese worm works just fine.

As for rod, reel, and line, i like a medium power rod with a spongy tip until 20% of the rod then comes into backbone. to me a reel doesnt matter as long as it has a good smooth drag which you will be using. As for line, 20 -14 lb braid with a 6lb flourocarbon leader is my set up and strait 8lb mono will get the job done

Terminal tackle is a small mosquito hook with a weight that fits your depth, wind conditions, and ability to keep bottom contact. Lightest is the best. With a leader depending on where the bass are and how they like it.(do some experimenting)

How to fish it. Just throw it where you think the bass are and shake slack in your line, then dead stick the bait and let it hover to the bottom then repeat. Once you get a bite just reel into the fish and the small sharp hook should penetrate the fish every time.
