Hey guys, in today’s vid I’ll be rigging up a 6.5″ finesse worm – BioSpawn Plasma Tail. First I show you how to rig it on one of my favorite shaky heads, the Owner Finesse Ball Head, with a line tie that’s somewhat recessed in the head, it comes through vegetation really well and the sticky light wire hook penetrates with ease. Next, we move on to the Texas-Rig and I prefer a Gamakatsu or an Owner round bend offset hook for that. With light line and more finesse applications I prefer the Owner as it’s a light wire hook which will penetrate with less effort. I prefer the Gamakatsu when I’m around boat docks or brush and using a heavier pound test line. From there we move on to the Split Shot and Carolina Rig. Again I use the Gamakatsu and Owner round bend offset hooks for these techniques. The Owner for a Split Shot rig as I’m using light line and the Gamakatsu for a Carolina Rig as I’m using a heavier line. Next, I rig up a Drop Shot or Power Shot Rig. With a Power Shot Rig you’re just up sizing your gear…bigger hooks, line and rod. I like a Mustad straight shank round bend grip pin hook for that technique. Next up is the Neko Rig. It’s not a rig that I use often, but when the fishing is tough and finesse is needed to get bit, then it’s a great option. Using a wacky rig tool with an O-ring will help save on plastics. Also make sure the hook is pointing out as I show in this video for a better hook up. I use a 1/0 Gamakatsu Drop Shot hook. Finally we come to threading the finesse worm on a jig head, and the NuTech Lures NuJig is hands down my favorite. It will get in and out of cover with ease and has an excellent hook up ratio. Go get you some!!!
