Had to drive south 40 miles or so to find open water and boy was it worth it! Had an awesome day on the open water for the 1st time in 2018. The lipless crankbait was the key to catching most of these bass.
Lipless crankbaits are one of the best baits for cold water bassin’. The water was only 48 degrees in this pond but the bass were stil interested in chasing these baits. We would pretty much cast them in to the deepest parts of the pond and slow roll them back in.
We utilized some lipless cranks from Rapala, Bill Lewis Lures and Cotton Cordell.
