Of all the many knots out there for connecting two mono lines together, our absolute favorite is a unique combination to two otherwise unrelated knots to form a very strong and effective connection…

To our knowledge, there isn’t an official name for this connection so we’ll refer to it as the “Salt Strong Knot” for simplicity…

It is a great choice to use when connecting two mono lines together that have very different diameters/strengths.

This connection consists of first tying a Perfection Loop at the end of the thicker/stronger line.

Then, tie an Orvis knot to the loop as if it were the eye of a lure/hook.

Trim the tags, and you’re ready for action.

This knot is extremely strong and it’s one of the more efficient knots out there because it can be tied to anything and allows for pre-rigged leaders to be made allowing for an even faster change if you’re one who changes lures/hooks frequently.
