Have you tried the new Rapala Skitter V yet? It’s the updated version of the popular Rapala Skitter Walk (known as one of the best topwater lures of all time). The biggest difference is the “v” body which gives it a whole lot more action while walking the dog.

In this video, I show the differences between the original Rapala Skitter Walk and the New Rapala Skitter V. I even have some underwater footage from the pool.

You will see just how much faster this new Skitter V lure moves with the v-shaped bottom and more slender body.

The pros of the Skitter V topwater lure are:

It has pretty awesome action compared to the older model
Because it glides so fast you can cover a whole lot more ground
It catches fish (as will see in the video).

Some cons of the Rapala Skitter V are:

It’s a bit more expensive than the Skitter Walk ($10-$12 per lure)
It comes standard with treble hooks (not sure why Rapala didn’t give an option for single hooks)
The hooks will rust out quickly if you don’t take care of them properly

Hope you enjoyed this topwater lure review.
