This video shows the quickest and easiest way to rig a Z-Man Jerkbait onto a weighted hook.

After learning this rigging trip, I now use Z-Man lures often due to the fact that they are so tough and hold up better than other soft plastics to the punishment of predator fish up in the shallows.

Here’s a quick rundown of the steps for rigging a Z-man jerkbait as shown in the video above:

1. Make a hole in the center of the bait

2. Push the corkscrew through the top of the bait and twist
until the entire corkscrew is buried into the plastic

3. Push the hook through the bait where it naturally would rest

4. Slide the small bait-stopper against the soft plastic to keep the hook in position

Bonus: If fishing heavy cover, slightly bury the hook point into the soft plastic
