The Whopper Plopper is a popular topwater lure for bass fishing, so I figured that I’d try it out for inshore fishing on speckled trout, snook, and redfish.

Turns out the seatrout loved the Whopper Plopper. I had a great day catching multiple trout in a short amount of time with this loud topwater plug.

The main pros of this Whopper Plopper lure are that it does catch fish, seems pretty durable, and you can cast it a mile.

The cons are that it comes with treble hooks so I was catching a bunch of weeds and it really tears the mouths of the trout up (but it’s not hard to change out the treble hooks for single inline hooks).
