The surgeon’s loop knot is a popular fishing knot for anglers who need to quickly double over their line (much faster than the Bimini Twist).

But this knot is rarely mentioned when anglers are looking to maximize their loop knots on braided line.

Why?

Well the surgeon’s knot is known for having very strong breaking points for line to line connections, so it seems reasonable to believe that it will perform well for loop knots too.

So we decided to add it to our loop knot strength contest…
