Want to know a great way to catch redfish that aren’t biting?

Try deadsticking scented lures (like Berkley Gulp baits) during times when the bite has died down but you know their are redfish around.

What happens is sometimes the redfish get lazy (just like humans), and they don’t want to work as hard for the food. So sometimes it’s best to get a scented bait and just let it sit (similar to soaking cut bait).

The best places to dead stick your soft plastic baits are:

1) Inshore potholes
2) Edges of sea grass
3) Near schools of bait / schools of mullet

Besides using Berkley Gulp baits (which come scented), you can also use scents on any other soft plastic such as Pro-Cure Super Gel fish scent.

Once you have your scented soft plastic in the water (aka dead sticking), then it’s just a waiting game.

Note that dead sticking lures is not permitted in some artificial fishing tournaments so always check the rules first.
