Want to know the best way to remove and replace treble hooks with single hooks is?

The good is that it’s pretty easy.

All you need are some split ring pliers, some inline hooks, and the fishing lure you plan on taking the treble hooks off of.

The biggest mistake that fisherman make when it comes to replacing treble hooks with single hooks is using the wrong hooks (don’t use J-hook or circle hooks, they need to be inline hooks).

The other big mistake is having the inline hooks face the wrong way. The front hook should face forwards and the back hook should face backwards (this will get you more hookups).

Advantages of single hooks instead of treble hooks:

Besides the obvious benefit that inline single hooks are safer for the fish (and you), there is also a big benefit to when fishing in areas with any debris, weeds, grass, etc.

There have even been some cases where I’ve landing certain species (such as tarpon) using the single inline hooks on a topwater plug that I know I would not have successfully landed had I been using treble hooks.
