Did Berkley GULP change their GULP formula again? It appears so from everything I’m seeing… but this time, it looks like they are changing it back to the ORIGINAL formula (the one that most of us fishermen liked before they decided to get creative and change it a few years back).
I most recently noticed it on a couple new packets of the Berkley Gulp Jerk Shad. They were so much tougher and durable than the last few packs from 2018.
What’s weird is that I haven’t seen any official announcement from Berkley about their Gulp baits changing back, but I’ve definitely noticed some of the newer packs hitting shelves feel and act just like the old school Gulp baits that I loved.
I know Pure Fishing (who owns Berkley) was just purchased so perhaps this has something to do with (or not). Does anyone have any intel on this?
