A quick tip on fishing crankbaits. When you are trying to cover water and need to be quick and efficient with your time, it pays to know this little trick for un snagging crank baits and other lures as well. It’s good to have a lure retriever in the boat, but when fishing water less than 8′, you can a lot of times unsung your lure by just using the weight and force from the rod tip itself. The trick is to not pull into your snag to hard to begin with. It only takes a few seconds and gets you to your next cast a lot faster than messing with a lure retriever!
