Pro angler Adrian Avena discusses how to rig and fish a power shot for bass. Power shotting uses the same principal as conventional drop shot rigging but for specific situations like fishing around heavy cover and when beefier equipment is required to extract bass and prevent break-offs. Another difference is that the baits are generally larger and often hooked texposed instead of nose hooked. Adrian favors this technique when targeting bass near grass lines, timber, and docks – where time in the strike zone and the power to get them out is key.
