Groupers feature more often on restaurant menus than on anybody’s list of great game fish. Yet, when hooked, they put up a powerful battle. It can’t be called epic, since the fish surrenders after a minute or so of intense struggle; but as long as it lasts, you feel as if you’ve lassoed a tractor.
