Here is a video demonstration on the easiest way to tie the FG fishing knot, which is also one of the strongest braid to leader knots in my opinion. This knot has grown in popularity the past two years due to its strength and ease to tie; it is also the lowest profile knot which efficiently passes through the guides of your rod without snagging. The diameter of the FG knot is essentially the same as your mono or fluorocarbon leader. The most important aspects of tying the knot are to make sure you have adequate tension on both your main line and leader material. Start off by placing your rod in a rod holder or somewhere secure, place the mainline in your mouth, make your initial wrap toward your main line, from that point you should alternate wraps back and forth for a total of twenty wraps. I then secure the knot with two overhand knots. Finally just pull tight, the tighter the FG knot gets the more squeeze pressure is applied to the mono leader.
