I had a great trip with my dad down at table rock lake in missouri.
Here’s how the trip went down.
Day 1–Fished with Guide Pete Wenners of Hooked on Bass and caught about 30 spots on a dropshot and jig. Pete did a great job putting us on fish and explaning his thought process so I could replicate the pattern during the rest of the trip. My dad hooked up with a surprise PB walleye. We fished offshore points and used eletronics to locate bass in 25-35′ of water. The deeper the water the more the fish tended to be suspended. After our trip with Pete we headed in for lunch and went back out on the water with a rental boat for the evening.
Day 2–More Spotted bass on a dropshot. A few smallmouth mixed in here and there. Fish bit finesse worms but a nightcrawler always seemed to be the most reliable. Caught 1 topwater fish on a spook. We fished morning and evening using a rental boat. My deeper fish finder saved the trip soooo hard. I was able to use it to find fish and determine depth. I used my Iphone maps app to locate points and make waypoints.
Day 3- We fished from a rental boat and tried a new spot for the morning before heading home. More spotted bass. We ran out of nightcrawlers which slowed down the bite but I tied my dad for biggest bass of the trip which was a 2lb4oz spot for both of us. Witnessed absurd numbers of fish busting on shad on the surface and saw massive schools of shad on my deeper. Most of the fish came from straight under the boat while watching them on the graph.
I had a great time fishing with my dad and although we didnt quite get the size of fish we wanted the numbers made up for it and we caught well over 50 bass between the two of us.
Unfortunately this will be my last video for quite some time. I head off to colorado to begin college at the Air Force Academy and will have basically no time to make videos or to even fish for that matter. Just wait a few years and I’ll be an expert at trout fishing. Thank you to all the subscribers who have watched my videos over the years.
