First time fishing for calico bass in Santa Monica Bay for Cobi Pellerito! Only his 2nd time ever on a boat out on the Pacific Ocean targeting a species high on his bucket list. The bite started in the dark for us and they continued to slam the Megabass Hardbaits as the sun came up.

The Megabass Kanata, Or Poi Stick Bait, X-140 saltwater jerkbait and the Trigya Pencil were all producing calicos (also known as Kelp Bass). Fun times, part 2 from this action filled day to come.

Video has become one of the most valuable learning tools in fishing, as important to learn from as watching “tape” is in any sport. The only thing that beats it is actually LIVING it.
