Are State funded bass fishing tournament worth doing and sustainable for our communities? The State of Alabama recent funded the Ultimate Angler Championship which paid out $1.32 million dollars to the top 100 anglers who competed. Some fans and people who live in Alabama LOVED this tournament while others did not like that their taxes paid for the guaranteed payouts. Are these kind of tournaments sustainable to worth doing for the region? Let’s look at some of the major tournaments and smaller tournament trails and see what their revenue back to the commuity is.
